Playa Jackson Beach Club Development

We were approached by an American who told us that we had been recommended to him to look at doing work on a beach club project.

The land was vast some 500,000m2 with almost a 1,000m of linear beachfront.

The location was in an area of natural outstanding beauty that as yet has seen no development!

The owner wants to preserve this by building Ecologically friendly projects that have a minimal impact on the land with very low density building.

We had various conversations and email exchanges discussing the various ideas and drawings that he sent.

This video shows a brief summary of proposed development and its phases.

The initial works started in June 2019 that being the building of the first access route the rustic staircase.

This presentation along with all required documents and proposal plans are in the early submission stages with the local authorities and planning departments.

The Samana peninsula as a whole is strictly protected by laws that ensure tight control on all building and protection of both land and marine environment.

Playa Jackson Rustic Staircase Construction Part 1

I surveyed the land as best we could over a few visits and calculated the staircase route and offered a budget cost which was accepted.

Work started in June 2019 clearing the start of the trail at the top of the mountain, which as we later found was the easy part.

I introduced some clever ways to build various parts of the staircase to solve the very steep parts and save on material costs.

Work continues well although  its very hard work as all we have are hand tools.

We had to make changes to the route to allow safer construction and passage.

The end is in sight the gravel machine gun worked so well and at last its finished.

The owner and associates came over for the grand opening and ribbon cutting.
